Purpose Of Life

We are preoccupied with ourselves; self-centered; entitled; striving for success; hoping for happiness; yearning for validation and significance. If and when time allows, we wonder about the meaning and / or purpose of life.

If you think about it, the purpose of life is quite clear.

1/ Using your assets efficiently.
Each of us is born with a unique set of assets. In the course of life, we add to it education and experience. Life is a competition, those who use their assets best win. (That’s why acquiring knowledge and experience is only a part of success; the ability to utilize them is what makes all your assets valuable.)

2/ Fulfilling your obligations in the larger scheme of things.
We are all mortal. We all die, sooner or later. Some of us die and disappear. Some leave behind positive impact that outlives them.

We benefit from things, people and accomplishments of those who came before us. It is our responsibility to not just repay what we benefited from, but to leave behind more than we found.

Give it a thought. The above may well be more important than whether or not there is an “afterlife”. Let the “afterlife” remain a mystery and live by what we know for sure.
